Seven sips of Balaton

In the western part of Hungary lies the Balaton, the biggest lake of Central Europe. For most Hungarians the lake means the sweet nostalgic memory of childhood summer holidays, dividing the lake into two parts: the quickly deepening stony north, and the sandy south.

But in the world of wine the region is much more divided: six sub-regions,each with their own microclimates, with the lake being the only unifying factor. We will taste 7 wines from all-around-the lake, attempting to understand the most important styles in the region!
